Techno Somatics//
Frédéric Gies
In the frame of his research project “Bad girls practices: un-writing dance, the body and the choir” initiated three years ago, Frédéric Gies develops a series of movement practices, which bridge somatic explorations with club dance and techno music. In this workshop, he will share an exploration of the endocrine system and of the states of consciousness and images that arise from this exploration.
Frédéric is a dancer, choreographer and senior lecturer in choreography. He is head of the MA programme in choreography at DOCH-UNIARTS in Stockholm. His work focuses on the articulation between dance, choreography and politics, and more precisely on how dance and choreography can address politics in a non-representational way.Somatics, clubbing and techno music, remains- or ghosts of various dance practices and styles and social choreography intermingle to form thesoil of his works.
